It’s Pride month every month here at Coin-Operated Press, but we wanted to celebrate our pride with you in the form of protest banners! Pride is a protest after all, and we want to create a space for you to feel safe and validated in all your glorious queerness!
Use your handmade flags to March with us at Edinburgh Pride on the 25th of June and then come visit us on our zine stall afterwards!!
We will provide all of the materials you will need to create your protest banner flags, but please feel free to bring some of your own decorating materials from home – this may include paint, fabric scraps, sequins, stickers, ribbons, glitter, pom poms, feathers etc.
All experience levels are welcome.
Numbers are limited so please register via the eventbrite links above. This is a donation-based event however, nobody will be turned away for lack of funding, yet donations allow us to run affordable events for everyone and entry is on a sliding scale payment (cash or card) on the day, as follows:
Unemployed/low-income: £3
Employed: £6
Comfortable and keen: £12
Donations will help cover supplies and also help us to continue our work with zine-outreach and publishing the work of those who might not otherwise be published.
We also welcome you to donate any of your unwanted art and craft supplies to us for use in our workshops, as well as any old magazines or paper collage materials you want to save from the recycling bin!
